Our 200-Yoga Teacher Training Program will begin in April 2019!
Thanks for your interest in obtaining your 200-hour Yoga Teaching Training with us at Fifth Element Yoga – we are thrilled to be offering this program again!
Our training is open to anyone with a curiosity to explore Yoga further, whether with the intention of seeing where it takes them, the goal of specifically becoming a certified Yoga Teacher or with the hope of deepening their personal Yoga practice.
Our goal is to give you the tools you need to expand your personal practice of Yoga with the confidence and knowledge to teach a safe and fun Vinyasa Yoga class.
In addition to lead teacher, Heather Bellizzi, we have the most awesome teachers – some of whom you may already know from our studio. You will get to learn from our staff with their diverse experiences and paths, all of whom have the same love of Yoga and teaching; this will enhance your training as you learn from each of our staff in their personal areas of expertise, as they teach you what they love.
During our training, we will study the origins of Yoga, its evolution, its greatest contributors and what Yoga has become today, as well as what Yoga means to you and ways you can further incorporate Yoga into all aspects of your everyday life and lifestyle on and off the mat.
You will be entitled to unlimited classes at the studio during your training to further expand your daily practice and there will be opportunities to teach classes at the studio after you have completed your training.
During your training, we will prepare you to teach a safe and enjoyable class, with thorough knowledge of the 8 limbs of Yoga including Asana (the poses, in English and Sanskrit) and Meditation. We will learn about the Anatomy and Physiology of the body in each pose we explore as well as the Chakra energy system, Mudras and more. Through our study of Asana, you will master each pose, its alignment and its purpose. You will be taught how to build a class including sequencing, you will be encouraged to find your personal rhythm and style of teaching, and you’ll be instructed on how to modify poses and classes for different students and their needs. We will also touch on how to teach specialty classes such as restorative classes and safety basics when teaching pre and post-natal students and students of different sizes and ages so your classes can be ethical and approachable for all.
Another area we will touch on is the business of Yoga; whether marketing yourself to teach at a gym or studio or fulfilling the desire to create your own studio, should you decide to make Yoga a part of your career, we will discuss current trends in this fast-growing industry as well as how to make your Yoga part of a business model that works for your career goals.
We’ve selected diverse and interesting required reading that we will review in open discussions through which we can all walk each other through this time of learning and growth.
It will be a dynamic exploration of Yoga and we look forward to having you along for the ride!
